Local time: 5:05 PM
Today's high: 66 degrees F
High point: Saw a mime near my house. At least, I think it was a mime. His face was painted white and wore a shiny hat.
Low point: Got blisters on my heels from the new flats. Shouldn't have worn flats during Oviedo "tour".
Lesson learned: Chinatown pants turn fingers bluish and chafe thighs if worn too long. Wear black leggings underneath if chafing happens. Also works for added layers ;-)
Prayer request: Help me to love everyone unconditionally even if they get on my nerves.
Weird sighting: The last two nights in a row I've gone out and passed by the same streets. Both nights, same time and place I saw the same woman discreetly digging through the trash. Hmm...
Later activity: Going to a mall near the university with Abigail and Joelle. More later.

Hope that you aren't walking alone at night. It was so fun to skyp you and Jenna too on a conference call. The weather has turned nicer here too. But, not as nice as you have it. It is good that you are getting acquainted with the rest of your group. It will slow down after awhile. What other activities are at your school? Do they have activities with other students from other countries? Take care.....love, Mom
ReplyDeletethey have tandem partners, which is like a convo partner, but since i've already hooked up w/ noemi and some other folks, i don't think i'll take part in that. i do walk alone at night sometimes, but the streets are very well-lit and there are lots of people around. i don't talk to people on the street unless they are a part of my group. sometime there will be random classes that we'll take that are like extracurriculars. there will be photography, dancing, theater, singing (maybe), cartooning, journalism, and spanish movies; the movie one goes all semester long. i think i'll be doing dancing and theater.
